Recycling and Material Recovery
Nationwide, few recycling programs can boast even 50% recovery of fully recyclable materials from typical municipal solid waste streams.

These efforts to recycle often involve pre-sorting operations, requiring workers to pick through household garbage to remove metals, glass, certain plastics, cardboard, and newsprint in the hope they can be profitably recycled.  Often, these desired results are not achieved and the recycling programs wind up costing the city money.  Unfortunately, while many municipalities and companies have made significant progress in recycling plastics, most recyclables still end up in our landfills. Using the SENREQ technology eliminates the time and expense of the sorting process while enhancing the recovery aspect.  This translates to greater economic viability for the recycling program as a whole.

Employing the SENREQ system, wastes are reduced to their recyclables, while all the stored energy can be recovered and used.

Recyclables are then retrieved. These consist of ferrous metal, aluminum, glass and ash. The metals and the glass are collected and then sent to the local recycler, which creates a secondary revenue stream. The ash can be sent to the local cement plant and processed, to be mixed into concrete.

Many municipalities have curbside collection programs. These programs employ very expensive sorter/collection trucks. Despite the fact the homeowner is required to expend very little time and energy to participate, only about one-half of all households recycle. If the SENREQ system is installed the recyclables recovery rate approaches 100%. This translates to more revenue for the city that otherwise is buried in the landfill. In addition, no more specialized collection trucks and the overhead to run them are necessary.
